#14
Giving yourself radical permission to take radical personal responsibility for your own (interdependent) wellbeing though radical non-participation in oppression
Dignity is who you are.
Through the practice of Dignity, we cultivate an experience of dignity. Said another way, the practice of dignity leads to an embodied experience of our own worth and value.
We do not wait to develop an inner experience of self-worth to act with a belief in our self-worth. We act as if we believe we matter so we experience being treated like we matter. Over time, we get used to it. Dignity becomes our home. More and more our Aliveness does not want to stop experiencing dignity, so we continue to act in alignment with a belief in our worth.
The more we practice dignity, the more we are only willing to act with the awareness that we are worthy, valuable, and precious.
Dignity can look like resting when we are tired, rather than fighting for permission to rest. We accept the consequences of resting rather than the consequences of not resting. We can even experience dignity while being punished by systems of oppression. We won’t be the first to accept our punishments with heads held high.
Do more of whatever gives you the experience of your value, preciousness, and worthiness.
Don’t wait. Start today.
