Including all the (contradictory) parts of ourselves, so we can experience the full power of our aliveness
Inclusion is how we love ourselves.
Life practices a radical level of inclusivity, engaging with everything and everyone with equal enthusiasm. Light shins on the rich and the poor, the wise and the ignorant, the grotesque and the romantic. We are life so inclusion is our natural state. However, when we grow up in an oppressive world, we can struggle to include the parts of ourselves we have been taught to fear or judge. When we include all of ourselves, even the contradictory parts, we focus our aliveness like a laser. Fighting ourselves disperses our Aliveness so we feel less powerful. Through inclusion, we claim the power of our contradictory authenticity.
We can include our grief or fear. We can include our confusion about how to live with the multidimensionality of ourselves or others. We can include it all. All of us can be included, accepted, welcomed, and loved.
Why not try inclusion?
We may think that avoiding or stifling parts of ourselves is the way to survive. The good news is our bodies will not survive, so we do not have to over-focus on that. You’ve tried avoidance and shame... Now try what works.
With inclusion, all our power is focused on our goals.
